Prevent your Steam account from being hacked by using the security features listed below.
[Registering your phone number]
Register your phone number to your Steam account to make recovering your account easier.
1. Sign in to Steam
2. Click your username in the top-right → Select [Account Details]
3. Click [Manage your phone number] in the [Contact Info] section.
4. Enter your phone number and finish registering it by entering the SMS verification code sent from Steam.
5. You can now use your phone to recover your account in the event of a security issue.
[Activate the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator]
Using the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator will allow your account to be protected with two-factor authentication (2FA).
This will prevent others from accessing your account without your mobile device, even if they know your password.
1. Download the Steam app on your mobile device.
2. Click the [Menu(≡)] tab in the lower right corner after signing in to the Steam app.
3. Select [Steam Guard] from the menu → Click [Add Authenticator].
4. Register a backup phone number and complete SMS verification.
5. Enter the verification code provided by the app.
